REOPENING FOR 2026!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. Well, after a longer than we thought winter closure, The Submarine Centre will be reopening this SUNDAY 10th of MAY to the general public! We are really excited to throwing open our doors again and presenting our latest 360 show X-CRAFT - DIVE DEEP as our main presentation.
We will also be showing our original show X51 STICKLEBACK daily at 12:30 from the 14th of May.
Discovering the X-Craft Submarine
Welcome to a world of exploration
Our award winning centre provides visitors with information about submarines and how they work. We use immersive 360 projection and audio to provide an entertaining learning experience about the exploits of the submarine service and the people involved. We also run a variety of events and performances throughout the year.

X-CRAFT 'Dive Deep'
Immersive Experience.
X-CRAFT 'DIVE DEEP' is the story of the innovators and pioneers that led the way in the development of the submarines we know today. Submarines didn't start big, they started small and with each generation, from the days of Alexander the Great onwards, milestones in technology and understanding gathered momentum. This presentation recounts the lives and often tragic ends of the ingenious inventors that made it all possible.
X-51 Stickleback
Submarine AV Presentation
The X-Craft had a unique and daring role in the history of submarines and X51 Stickleback, the centrepiece of our exhibit, was part of that story. We use the latest laser projection technology to tell her story on our huge immersive screens and also on the submarine as well. You will learn all about the history of this facinating class of submarine and the brave submariners who crewed her. Come explore!
